Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 is the successor to Microsoft Exchange Server 2013. With Exchange Server 2016, Microsoft is simplifying the server architecture and developing the capabilities for users. Improvements include:
- The revised interface of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 can be easily used in numerous browsers and without further installations with the mobile operating systems Android and iOS.
- The improved search architecture of Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 allows users to search more quickly and more thoroughly in mailboxes and calendars.
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 facilitates collaborative work: Files stored in Microsoft's cloud services can easily be pasted as a link rather than as an attachment.
- Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 supports both mailboxes on local servers and those in the cloud, as well as the hybrid scenario of both. Extensions for the cloud, such as Azure Rights Management or Exchange Online Archiving, can also be used with local mailboxes.
